The mission of the Department of Industrial and Electrical Engineering Technology encompasses that of the College of Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology and the University which is to provide a high quality education balanced with broad learning opportunities from other fields integrated to provide intellectual richness and flexibility. The department offers four-year programs leading to the Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, and Industrial Education with an option in Industrial Technology. The engineering and engineering technology programs emphasize concepts or theories in addition to the practical aspects of engineering and are a blend of the application of science, engineering knowledge, and technical skills in support of engineering activities. The engineering and engineering technology curricula are designed to prepare persons for responsible positions in industry or to pursue further studies in their respective fields. The industrial education program trains persons who wish to qualify as teachers of industrial subjects in the primary schools whereas the industrial technology program prepares professionals for employment in business, industry and government.
